I started visiting my grandfather’s watchmaking shop when I was around 8 years old, and learned many things about the basics of timekeeping, and the different forms that it can take. Many years and a few professional schools later, and I have enough confidence to open the case of a watch worth as much as a new car, and the respect to do so correctly. After all of that, authentication and appraisal is a walk in the park.
